Asus released the successor of Asus PadFone - the PadFone 2 in Taiwan on October 16, 2012 at an event held at Milan. This is a hybrid gadget which is a smartphone that can be converted into tablet. The latest gadget from Asus is slimmer when compared to its predecessor PadFone which got released in Indian just few days back.

This hybrid tablet from Asus was surrounded with rumors over the past few weeks. The massive smartphone is available along with a 4.7 inch Super IPS+ panel which supports a resolution of 1,280 X 800 pixels. The smartphone is operated by quite a fast 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor backed by 2GB of RAM and operates on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. No need to worry guys! However  the company promised that the device would soon get an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system.

The Asus Padfone 2 is equipped along with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera that would let the user to make video calls. The sad and discouraging part of Padfone 2 is that it does not have any MicroSD Card slot.

The PadFone 2 Tablet sports a 10.1 inch IPS touch screen which holds a resolution of 1,280 X 800 pixels. The company possess made a change in the power supply, which was 6,600 mAh earlier has been brought down to 5,000 mAh power supply.

It is surely a matter of disappointment that Asus Padfone 2 does not currently comes with keyboard dock i.e. can't be used as notebook.

The gadget would be available in the Taiwan market by next week and the rest of the world; Asia and Europe would get the gadget by the year end. The company hasn’t confirmed anything along with regards to the pricing but rumors point to the fact that the 32 GB model will possibly have a price tag of 55,000 and the 64 GB would cost 63,000.

Once the PadFone is docked to the unique PadFone Station it gets changed up to a 10.1-inch tablet. The PadFone also comes through a a dockable full-size keypad that could be docked to the PadFone Station to have a notebook like experience.

When the smartphone is connected due to the PadFone Station the battery life gets enhanced by 63 hours and When the already connected PadFone Station is docked When using the detachable keypad the overall battery life extends to upas much as 104 hours. The clubbing of PadFone Station gives the consumers access to multiple ports like Card Reader and USB ports.
Check out a video of this innovative gadget :-

The PadFone sports a 4.3-inch display having 960×540 pixel resolution, an 8 megapixel rear and VGA front cameras, 1GB memory and every one of the the required connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The PadFone Station features a 10.1-inch display having 1280×800 pixel resolution, 8 megapixel back digital camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 6,600 mAh battery, 2 USB 2.0 ports along with a memory card Reader port.

Merging 3 devices directly into one is a whole new  concept  In the gadget world as well as its quite entertaining. However few hindering information which surrounds this device is, for one thing its huge price content label, secondly the tablet size PadFone Station is completely useless without any PadFone and thirdly the Android market  akka Google Play  acknowledges PadFone as a smartphone and not as a tablet subsequently Once the PadFone turns into a tablet the apps are not tablet-optimized.

This would come as sure-shot way for young generation to show-off 'Tashan'. What say ?
